We are excited to present this exceptional timepiece: the Hamilton American Classic Chrono-Matic 50 Watch, reference H69439511, numbered 0206/1972, from the early 2020's. This watch comes complete with its original box and papers.

The Chrono-Matic 50 celebrates the 50th anniversary of the iconic Hamilton Chrono-Matic E GMT from 1972. Limited to 1,972 pieces, it faithfully recreates the original's design, with red chronograph pushers and a tonneau-shaped stainless-steel case.

Powered by the Swiss-made automatic chronograph movement, caliber H-31 (based on ETA 7753), this self-winding watch boasts 27 jewels, a small second, a date indicator with quick date correction, a substantial 60-hour power reserve, and a 28,800 vph frequency. The chronograph includes a sweep second hand with a 30-minute elapsed time counter, ideal for sports use. The H-pattern design on the oscillating bridge highlights Hamilton's craftsmanship.

Housed in a 48mm tonneau-shaped stainless-steel case, the Chrono-Matic 50 retains the original’s signature five crowns. However, the modern H-31 chronograph movement has shifted the crowns and pushers to the right side. The left-side black pusher serves as the quick date corrector, while the second crown operates the rotating countdown bezel. It features a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and offers water resistance of 100 meters (10 bar / 10 atm / 330 feet), making it both durable and practical. 

The striking reverse panda dial features polished hour markers, and the hour and minute hands are filled with luminescent material for easy readability. The central second hand, bright red in color, matches the red accents in the sub-dials and the countdown scale numerals. The white sub-dials are set against a bold black background, with vibrant red details adding a dynamic touch. A tachymeter scale on the sloping flange complements the black-and-white rotating countdown bezel, while a black precision minutes/seconds track leads to the two sub-dials at 9 and 3 o'clock, displaying small seconds and 30-minute elapsed time, respectively. A round date window at 6 o’clock completes the dial layout. 

The reverse panda dial features a short, polished hour markers and hour and minute hands are filled with luminescent material, and the central second hand is bright red, matching the hands in the sub-dials and the numerals of the countdown scale. It has white sub-dials, a black background and lively red accents. The tachymeter scale on the sloping flange is followed by the black and white rotating countdown bezel. A lighter black precision minutes/seconds track leads to dial with its two sub-dials relaying the small seconds at 9 o’clock and 30-minute elapsed times at 3 o’clock. Completing the functions, there is also a round date window at 6 o’clock.  

Matching the color scheme of the dial, the Chrono-Matic 50 comes with the original black rally-style leather strap with perforations revealing the red lining. 

It’s in very good pre-owned condition, running smoothly and keeping excellent time—an ideal combination of rugged functionality and timeless style.
